Preserving the characteristic structure of old buildings while meeting the needs of modern living has been an important source of inspiration for this project. As part of the project, the kitchen of the historic building, which maintains a harmonious relationship with its past, has been redesigned to enhance both functionality and aesthetics.
The kitchen has been crafted to maximise the use of natural light, in keeping with the structure of the old building. By enlarging the windows and positioning light wells, more daylight is allowed to enter the space, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere.
The project places a strong emphasis on sustainability principles. The restoration of old materials aims to minimise environmental impacts by reducing waste, while energy-efficient lighting systems and appliances have been incorporated to promote energy savings within the building. This design approach merges historical heritage with modern comfort while also considering environmental responsibility.
